Cassette Fossil.

Late oil age fossil on rock, believed to be a magnetic storage device for sound and data which would have been used inside a reading machine.

The cassette is to scale as it is made from an actual cast of a cassette. It is made from polymerised plaster (hardest grade paster of Paris which is used to make chess pieces mixed with acrylic polymer which makes a resin-like compound). It is painted in layers and finished with lacquer for a highly realistic appearance.

Unlike the other items I sell I use stock photos for this piece as individual pieces are very similar to each other and do not need to be individually photographed. Being handmade and hand painted there will be a small amount of variation in colour/shade but the sculpture you will receive will be very similar to the photos.

It is intended for indoor display but can survive outdoors, however if displayed outside it won’t survive the elements forever. The material used is robust but care must be taken not to knock or scratch, treat as ceramic.

UK and international postage by Royal Mail, all orders are tracked. Outside the UK please be aware that although an individual item can be expensive to post it doesn’t normally cost much more to send additional items (for the USA one fossil costs £18 to send but two can be sent for £20). USA customers: the customs category which includes my pieces (sculpture) is duty free so they are exempt from tariffs.
